Amalgith is a ranger? I had no idea. Which certainly means Acavel didn't know, either-- and, in any event, Amalgith couldn't have overheard words spoken at the murder scene, since he's in the tent. (I tried to talk Kathleen into it, too, and she even expressed interest, but, well, she's got two kids...)

----
Silver tongue, don't fail me now! Very top of my voice, moving toward the nearest guard & horse-- preferably the one Bishop spoke to.

"Guards! This woman can follow the killer-- she knows where he is. He's committed burglary, horse-theft, and murder this night-- he must be taken. Two of you take your horses, and loan one to her-- follow her to him. I will stand as bond and prisoner in her place until her return, if you need surety; or, if you trust that the Captain would want this done, then loan me a horse as well. You needn't let her out of your sight; go with her yourself. If you return with the half-orc and this woman, you'll have accomplished all that Kray wishes. [pushing my voice further still, shouting in the direction that I think the others went] Gimble! Grell! Bishop! He's a mile to the north-- follow him quickly if you can!"

(Are there any horses within immediate sight? How far are we from the stables where our mounts are kept?)

How far is the murder scene from Kray's tent? Shouting distance?
